Program Requirements

The social work major consists of 39 credit hours of foundation social work courses and 12 hours of pre-requisite courses. All social work students are required to complete the university general education curriculum as well as 40 hours of upper division (300-400) courses. The social work degree requires a total of 121 credits for graduation.

It is recommended that the social work courses be taken in sequence as outlined by the Social Work Program. The social work major requires students complete the social work the foundation courses including a 400 hour field placement. To be eligible for field placement (SW 499), students must have completed the foundation and pre-requisite courses in social work.
