LU Bridge Program

Welcome, Future Blue Tiger!
The Lincoln University Bridge program provides direct support and guidance for incoming freshmen and is designed to increase a students’ likelihood of academic success during their first year in college. Successful completion of the Bridge program will allow you to enroll as a member of the First Year Success Initiative which also provides a variety of academic and non-academic support for new students. All student success programs are cohort-based and supported by an Academic Success Team consisting of a faculty leader, a peer tutor, and peer mentor. Students considering the Bridge program can choose from the following program options:
Summer 2023 Bridge Program
- Summer 2023 Dates: July 9 - July 28, 2023

The Summer Bridge program is free of cost to all participants! It consists of a 3-week, residential program during which students will be registered for two (2) classes comprising a total of 4 credit hours.
Students interested in the Summer Bridge option must complete the free online application, submit their official high school transcript to the admissions office, and submit the $150 non-refundable enrollment fee. It is during completion of the enrollment fee that students will have the option to select the “Summer 23 Bridge” option.
Students participating in the Summer Bridge program WILL BE REQUIRED to reside on campus for the entire three weeks of the program. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions below for further details on the program. If you have additional questions, please see our contact information below.

Fall 2023 Bridge Program
- Fall 2023 Dates: August 21 - December 2, 2023
- Fall 2023 Application Deadline: July 31, 2023
Spring 2024 Bridge Program
- Spring 2024 Dates: January 8 – April 27, 2024
- Spring 2024 Application Deadline: December 15, 2023
Students engaging in the Bridge program during the fall or spring semesters will be registered for 9 credit hours which will allow them to be eligible for 75% of their potential financial aid award. Students participating in the Bridge program during the fall or spring semesters WILL BE REQUIRED to reside on campus for the entire 16 weeks of the semester. Students will also be responsible for all fees associated with attendance including tuition, housing, and meals.
Students interested in the fall or spring Bridge options must complete the free online application, submit their official high school transcript to the Admissions Office, and complete the $150 non-refundable enrollment fee. It is during completion of the enrollment fee that students will have the option to select either the “Fall 23 Bridge” or “Spring 24 Bridge” options. Students with a cumulative, high school GPA of 2.49 or lower, or entering with a GED.
- Summer Bridge is a 3-week program, free program that earns 4 college credit hours. (Enrollment capacity is 100)
- Fall Bridge is a 16-week program, includes a cost to the student that is financial aid eligible. (Enrollment capacity is 100)
- Spring Bridge is a 16-week program, includes a cost to the student that is financial aid eligible. (Enrollment capacity is 100)

You can take advantage of one of LU’s guaranteed admission programs at a partnership institution.
Students who choose to attend Lincoln who have been identified as potentially underprepared, but who do NOT want to attend the LU Bridge program, will still have access to LU academic support.
Note: Students will NOT have access to additional support programs (i.e. dedicated academic success teams available to LU Bridge participants).
While your first semester will NOT be full-time, our flat rate tuition (12-18 hours) will allow you to register for the additional credit hours needed to graduate in four years.
Submit your $150 non-refundable, one-time Intent to Enroll fee at: Intent to Enroll and then select your desired Bridge semester.
After selecting your LU Bridge option, a member of the academic success team will contact you regarding your acceptance and how to prepare. Preparation will include:
- MANDATORY virtual orientation session (student and guardian)
- Contact with your academic success team leader, prior to the start of the semester
- Completion of $150 housing deposit
- Submission of student health forms
- Completion of 2023-2024 FAFSA
All steps must be completed at least 1 week prior to the start of your bridge semester.
All LU Bridge graduates will become a part of the First-Year Success Initiative (FYSI) where they and their other cohort members will continue to strengthen the skills necessary to be successful college students.
Students in the summer bridge will have all SUMMER associated fees and costs covered by the university.
Students in the fall/spring bridge programs will be eligible for 75% of their potential Financial Aid award, in addition to any scholarships they may be eligible for. Fall/Spring bridge students will be responsible for all fees and costs associated with attendance.
