If you live in another state and want to attend LU Online:

Lincoln University meets state requirements for regulation compliance to deliver university-level distance/online education to residents in other states. Each state has different regulations. We are in compliance with all states to offer university-level programs.

As a consumer, it's important for you to remember that regulations can be changed for any given state. If you have questions or concerns about your given area, feel free to call us at 573-681-5442 or email us  LUOnline@lincolnu.edu.

We welcome you to apply for admission to Lincoln University for a university-level online or hybrid course unless your course of study fits one of the following situations:

  • Alabama: We are unable to take new enrollments from AL residents in Lincoln University's online nursing degree programs. See Consumer Disclosures for official statement from Alabama.
  • Louisiana: We are not able to serve LA residents who want to enroll in nursing courses or programs that require in-Louisiana clinical experiences (e.g. supervised clinical courses) that lead to APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) licensure. We cannot accept applications from LA residents for the online social work program. We can accept LA residents into our online nursing RN-to-BSN and our other online programs.
  • Maryland: Nursing students residing in Maryland may enroll in fully online degrees and certificates. We are NOT able to serve Maryland residents in other nursing programs requiring in-Maryland clinical experiences (e.g. supervised clinical courses). Students who are Maryland residents and coded as "LU distance students" are subject to this refund policy.
  • Massachusetts: We are not able to serve Massachusetts residents who want to enroll in courses or programs that require in-MA clinical experiences (e.g. Supervised clinical courses) or any internships, externships or clinical practica. You are eligible to enroll in any of our online classes or programs that don't require in-MA experiences.
  • New York: We are not able to serve New York residents who want to enroll in courses or programs that require in-NY clinical experiences (e.g. supervised clinical courses). This means we cannot accept applications from NY residents for online nursing or social work programs that have clinical practica. You are eligible to enroll in any of our online courses/programs that don't require in-NY clinical experiences.
  • North Carolina: We cannot accept applications from NC residents for online undergraduate nursing programs. You are eligible to enroll in any of our online graduate nursing courses/programs.
  • Oregon: We are not able to serve OR residents who want to enroll in courses or programs that require in-Oregon clinical experiences (e.g. Supervised clinical courses). This means we cannot accept applications from OR residents for most online nursing or social work programs. You are eligible to enroll in any of our online courses/programs that don't require in-Oregon clinical experiences.
  • Washington: We are not able to serve WA residents who want to enroll in courses or programs that require in-Washington clinical experiences (e.g. Supervised clinical courses). You are eligible to enroll in any of our fully online courses/programs that don't require in-Washington experiences. See also Consumer Disclosures for Washington residents.
