Reporting Hazing at Lincoln University
The Stop Campus Hazing Act: Federal Support for Safer Campuses
The Stop Campus Hazing Act of 2024 marked a historic advancement in national efforts to end hazing in higher education. This federal law emphasizes prevention through transparency, data collection and reporting. At Lincoln University of Missouri, we embrace this legislation as a powerful reinforcement of our zero-tolerance stance on hazing.
We are actively working to:
- Increase awareness through education and training.
- Ensure transparent reporting and accountability.
- Strengthen our preventative measures to protect the dignity and safety of every student.
If you or someone you know has been affected by hazing, we encourage you to take action. You can report hazing through the following resources:
- Lincoln University Incident Reporting Form (confidential): Report Hazing – Maxient Form
- Anonymous national reporting: National Anti-Hazing Reporting – Fraternal Law
All reports of hazing are taken seriously and will be promptly and thoroughly investigated. Depending on the nature of the report, investigations may be led by the Office of Student Engagement, Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards, the Office of Human Resources or conducted collaboratively.
Investigations will typically include:
- Interviews with the individual(s) who made the report
- Interviews with the alleged individuals involved
- Interviews with any victims or witnesses
- Collection and review of any relevant evidence or documentation
A written report summarizing the findings will be submitted to the appropriate, Student Engagement, Student Conduct & Community Standards or Human Resources, for review and next steps.
- If the alleged perpetrator is a student, and the investigation suggests a violation of the university’s hazing policy, the matter will be referred to the Office of Student Engagement and the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards for formal resolution under the Student Code of Conduct.
- If the alleged perpetrator is an employee, the report will be submitted to the individual’s supervisor(s) and to Human Resources for review and resolution in accordance with university policies and employment guidelines.
Lincoln University is committed to upholding a safe, respectful campus environment where hazing is never tolerated and accountability is enforced at all levels.
