University Eligibility and Requirements

At Lincoln University of Missouri, student organizations that conduct a competitive or selective recruitment process — including fraternities, sororities or similar organizations — must adhere to university guidelines to ensure a safe, ethical and compliant intake experience. These organizations are required to maintain appropriate liability insurance, obtain university approval and complete all mandatory compliance trainings prior to participating in any recruitment or new member education activities.

Students who are seeking membership in any competitive or selective organization must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student in good academic, financial and disciplinary standing.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be enrolled full-time and have completed at least 15 credit hours at Lincoln University.
  • Must complete the required number of community service hours determined by the Office of Student Engagement.

Students currently under disciplinary sanctions are not eligible to participate in new member education activities until all sanctions have been resolved and verified.

Transfer students are required to have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at Lincoln University and must be classified as at least a second-semester freshman or higher before they are eligible to take part in any new member education activities.

Additionally, all students interested in joining a fraternity, sorority or similar organization are required to attend all University-sponsored trainings and educational workshops, including the Divine Intervention program, in order to be cleared for participation in new member education activities.
