Ensembles
- The Lincoln University of Missouri's instrumental music program consists of five ensembles, the marching band, pep band, concert band, jazz band, and the drumline/percussion ensemble.
Marching Band
- The marching band is open to any Lincoln University student who meets the criteria for membership. Students wishing to receive academic credit must register for MUS 299B or 499B. For more information refer to the "Marching Musical Storm" link.
- Rehearsal Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Pep Band
- The pep band is a reduced version of the marching band and primarily performs at basketball games and other smaller performance venues. The pep band is open to any Lincoln University student who meets the criteria for membership. Students wishing to receive academic credit must register for MUS 299B or 499B. - Rehearsal Schedule: Fall Semester – Monday through Friday – 6:00pm to 8:30 pm
Spring Semester – M, W, F or TBA -- 4:00pm to 5:15pm
Concert Band
- The Lincoln University of Missouri concert band is the premier concert ensemble on campus. This musical organization's repertoire consists of standard and contemporary concert literature, as well as traditional concert marches. The concert band performs at all university convocations, graduation, and the annual spring concert. Membership is open to any Lincoln University student. Students wishing to receive academic credit must register for MUS 299B or 499B, during the spring semester only.

Drumline and Percussion Ensemble
- The Lincoln University of Missouri Drumline, better known as "Groove Dynasty," is part of the "Marching Musical Storm," and performs at all of the same events as the marching band. In addition to its duties with the marching band, the drumline also serves as an exhibition ensemble that gives a number of performances as a separate unit. "Groove Dynasty" has performed before audiences in much of Missouri, Peoria, Illinois, and Louisville, Kentucky. For concert performances, the drumline transforms into a traditional concert percussion ensemble. Membership is open to any Lincoln University student who meets the criteria for membership. Spring Semester TBA
Jazz Band
- The Lincoln University of Missouri Jazz Band is a performing ensemble comprised of a rhythm section (drum set, percussion, bass guitar, piano, and guitar), reeds, and brass instruments. Typically, it is one player per part. The ensemble performs jazz music in varying styles from swing to funk. Students gain independence on their instrument by being forced to own their part individually. Students will learn the fundamentals of performing in a big band, gain a better understanding of the variety of jazz styles, and understand the context of jazz history within U.S. history. Students will continually build on their understanding of improvising with a big band.
- Rehearsal Schedule: Fall and Spring Semester, Tuesday and Thursday: 4:00 pm to 4:50 pm.
