LU Band Scholarship Audition Standards for Wind Instrument Players

  • Be able to perform major scales. Please do two octaves when applicable.
  • Be able to perform a chromatic scale.
  • Perform one prepared etude or solo. Please, no marching band pieces or pop tunes.
  • Be prepared to do sight-reading.

LU Band Scholarship Audition Standards for Percussion Instrument Players

  • Be able to perform the 26 American Standard Rudiments in an open-close-open format.
  • Be able to perform major scales and a chromatic scale on a mallet instrument.
  • Perform one prepared etude or solo. Please, no marching band pieces or pop tunes.
  • Be prepared to do sight-reading.
