Transfer of Credits

Lincoln University generally accepts credits at full value, provided that the transferring institution is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission or an equivalent accrediting agency. A maximum of 90 credit hours may be accepted for credit from 4-year institutions and a maximum of 64 credit hours may be accepted for credit from 2-year institutions. The registrar's office provides course equivalencies for general education courses taken at other institutions that are transferable to Lincoln University. Course equivalencies for social work courses are determined by the program director and may require reviewing course description and/or syllabi to determine the equivalency. In accordance with CSWE policy, the social work program does not require students to repeat coursework determined to be successfully completed elsewhere from other accredited social work programs. Course equivalency of social work courses will be determined at the time of transfer.
