Lincoln University’s Megan Titus Receives Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

Lincoln University of Missouri School of Nursing Program Coordinator Megan Titus, MSN, RN, was honored with the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award was presented on April 2, 2025, at the Scruggs Center.

Presented annually by the governor and the Council on Public Higher Education (COPHE), the award recognizes exceptional faculty members from Missouri’s public higher education institutions. Honorees are selected for their excellence in teaching, innovation, advising and service.
Titus is committed to student success, excellent patient care and continuous quality improvement. She has 18 years of nursing experience, with the past eight years dedicated to nursing education at Lincoln University. She has served in the associate degree program since 2017 and began coordinating the Fort Leonard Wood site in 2018. Currently, she teaches in the RN-BSN completion program and the LPN-RN transition course.

Dr. Jennifer McCord, department head of the School of Nursing, described Titus as a knowledgeable and skilled nurse educator who consistently strives for the highest standard of care. Known for her sound judgment, fairness and strong advocacy for students, patients and peers, Titus creates a supportive learning environment that promotes success across all areas of student development. She remains committed to lifelong learning and professional growth.
“Titus recognizes that her role as a nurse educator is multidimensional,” McCord said. “Megan's passion and dedication for nursing education makes her truly deserving of this award.”
