You're Not Alone: Lincoln University Counseling Services Here to Support Your Journey

October 22nd, 2025

College life brings incredible opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. But let's be honest: it also comes with its share of challenges. From academic pressures to personal struggles, difficult times can feel overwhelming and emotionally exhausting. That's exactly why Lincoln University Student Counseling Services exists: to walk alongside you during those moments when you need support the most.

What Counseling Services Offers

Student Counseling Services recognizes that not every challenge students face is academic. The center provides individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol recovery support, and educational opportunities on a variety of topics including career questions, anxiety, depression, anger, and relationships.

Whether you're navigating a specific crisis, working through ongoing concerns, or simply need an objective listener to help you process what you're experiencing, professional counselors are ready to help. These services are designed specifically for Lincoln University students, understanding the unique pressures and experiences of Blue Tigers.

Two Convenient Ways to Access Support

Lincoln University makes it easy to get the help you need, when you need it:

In-Person Counseling: Meet face-to-face with a clinician at the Counseling Center, conveniently located in Thompkins Health Center at 822 Lee Drive. You can schedule an appointment by completing the Client Counseling Form online or by calling 573-681-5476.

Virtual Counseling (TeleHelp 24/7): Can't make it to campus? Prefer the privacy of your own space? Students can meet with a clinician virtually through the TeleHelp 24/7 service, making mental health support accessible around the clock, fitting your schedule and comfort level.

Why Reaching Out is a Sign of Strength

Here's something important to remember: seeking help isn't a sign of weakness—it's a sign of self-awareness and courage. Some of the strongest, most successful people you know have worked with counselors at various points in their lives. Mental health support is healthcare, plain and simple.

You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Maybe you're feeling stressed about upcoming exams, struggling to adjust to college life, dealing with relationship issues, or simply feel like something's off. All of these are valid reasons to connect with counseling services. Early support often prevents small challenges from becoming bigger obstacles.

Think of counseling as a resource for personal growth and resilience-building, not just crisis intervention. The skills and insights you gain through counseling can benefit you throughout your entire life, both at Lincoln and beyond.

Emergency Support Available

In the event of an emergency situation, students may contact the Lincoln University Police Department at 573-681-5555 or visit an emergency room. Your safety and wellbeing are the top priority.

Take the First Step Today

Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health and academic success. In fact, they're all connected. Taking care of your emotional wellbeing helps you show up as your best self in the classroom, in your relationships, and in pursuing your goals.

Don't wait until you're overwhelmed. Schedule your appointment today.
