Ameren Missouri Awards $100,000 Grant to Lincoln University of Missouri for Student Success, Workforce Readiness

October 5th, 2026

Lincoln University of Missouri has received a $100,000 grant from Ameren Missouri to support the University’s “Strengthen Education Opportunity in Mid-Missouri” initiative, expanding opportunities for student success, career preparation and stronger connections between the University and the communities it serves.

“At Ameren Missouri, we believe investing in people is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future of our communities,” said Tina Shannon, Lincoln University Board of Curators president and senior director of government relations for Ameren Missouri. “Lincoln students have tremendous potential, and I am especially proud to see this partnership connect them with the experiences and support they need to build their futures while strengthening Missouri’s workforce and communities.”

The one-time grant will support efforts to help students persist to graduation and prepare for successful careers. Funding will support student retention and engagement; scholarships and financial assistance for career pathways in engineering, energy, skilled trades, information technology, environmental sciences, agriculture, business and other STEM-related fields; and career-readiness opportunities such as internships, mentorship, professional development and workforce credentialing.

“We are grateful to Ameren Missouri for investing in Lincoln University students and in the future workforce of our region,” said Lincoln University President John B. Moseley. “This partnership will help reduce barriers to student success while expanding the experiences and career connections that prepare our students for life after graduation. It is an investment in their futures and in the communities they call home.”

Through the initiative, Lincoln University will build on its work to connect education with career pathways and workforce demand while reducing barriers that can prevent students from completing their degrees. The grant will support programming through Dec. 31, 2027.

The partnership builds on Lincoln University’s growing role in workforce development, including its Employment Academy and recent selection to lead workforce development efforts as part of the National Science Foundation’s Critical Materials Crossroads Engine, a regional initiative focused on strengthening the workforce and innovation ecosystem across Missouri and Kansas.

Ameren Missouri will be recognized as a Lincoln University partner throughout the 2026-27 academic year, including as a supporting sponsor of Lincoln University’s 160th Birthday Bash Scholarship Soiree during Homecoming 2026, an event supporting student scholarships.
