Lincoln University Horticulture Program presents a workshop:
Addressing Food Insecurities through Establishment of Community Gardens
This workshop is designed for individuals, churches, schools, and neighbor groups wanting to start a community garden. Participants will learn about:
- planning and starting a community garden
- garden design and raised beds construction
- soil management and crop production and protection
- volunteer coordination and community involvement
- accessing land, navigating local regulations, and working with vacant lots
- grants, Extension programs, and local resources available to gardeners
- connecting with Extension educators and fellow growers
