The Alumni Council was formed by President John Moseley, with its inaugural meeting held during Homecoming 2024. The council serves in an advisory capacity to support the president and his leadership team by aligning with the university's strategic plan and engaging alumni in supporting Lincoln University and its students. The council also works to strengthen the relationship between the university and its alumni.

The retreat opened with remarks from President Moseley, followed by presentations from university leaders, deans and staff. Council members received updates on student enrollment, retention and academic performance, which have shown steady improvement over the past three years.
