The Small Town Showcase series is sponsored by Missouri Humanities and highlights small communities across the state, focusing on what they offer and why they matter. The Prairie Home video explores the town’s history and its longstanding Prairie Home Free Fair, one of the longest-running free fairs in Missouri.

Boston and her students have been conducting historical archaeological research in Prairie Home. Their work, and its connection to the Prairie Home Free Fair, is featured in the video as part of the town’s broader historical narrative.
