Dr. Elizabeth Dorssom Named MA in Community and Economic Development Program Coordinator

Lincoln University has named Dr. Elizabeth Dorssom program coordinator for its online Master of Arts in Community and Economic Development program, effective spring 2026.

Lincoln University has announced the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Dorssom as program coordinator for the online Master of Arts in Community and Economic Development, a graduate degree program offered through the University’s graduate studies portfolio. Her appointment is effective spring 2026.

Dorssom, an associate professor of political science, brings extensive experience in community engagement, public policy and graduate-level instruction to the role.

“I am honored to serve as program coordinator for the MA in Community and Economic Development,” Dorssom said. “As a graduate program, it plays a vital role in preparing professionals to work collaboratively across sectors to support sustainable and inclusive communities. I look forward to contributing to that mission.”

Housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, the MA in Community and Economic Development is a fully online graduate program designed for working professionals and students seeking advanced training. The program prepares graduates for leadership roles in public service, nonprofit management, planning, policy analysis and community-based organizations.

The interdisciplinary graduate curriculum emphasizes applied learning, real-world problem-solving and collaboration across fields such as political science, sociology, public administration and criminal justice.

“Whether students are advancing their careers or transitioning into community-focused leadership roles, this graduate program provides a strong foundation for impact,” Dorssom said.

Graduate program marks successful first semester

Dorssom’s appointment coincides with the successful completion of the program’s first graduate semester, marking an important milestone for the inaugural cohort.

“Our inaugural cohort brings diverse perspectives and experiences that have already enriched classroom discussions and collaborative projects,” Dorssom said. “Their success reflects both the rigor of the graduate curriculum and their commitment to community-driven leadership.”
