Mister Lincoln University Jamir Hunt and Miss Lincoln University Dayonna Crump share their first dance as the newly crowned royal pair during the 2025 Coronation at Lincoln University.
Lincoln University of Missouri honored one of its most cherished Homecoming traditions with the coronation of the 23rd Mister Lincoln University, Jamir Hunt, and the 101st Miss Lincoln University, Dayonna Crump.
The annual ceremony, held at Jason Gymnasium, was a night of elegance, history and community pride — celebrating the scholarship, leadership and service embodied by Lincoln’s student royalty.
For more than 100 years, the coronation has represented more than pageantry — it is a living expression of Lincoln University’s heritage and ideals. This year’s theme, “An Enchanted Garden,” transformed the gymnasium into a glowing green and gold scene filled with candlelight, floral décor and anticipation as the audience awaited the crowning moment.

The evening began with a warm welcome and invocation, followed by messages of encouragement from university leaders. Tobias Morgan, vice president for student affairs, and Samantha M. Lampkin, alumna and Emmy Award-winning journalist, guided the audience through the ceremony as masters of ceremony.

The program honored both the outgoing and incoming royal courts. Student leaders representing each class year, organization and campus group were presented in elegant procession, wearing coordinating gold and navy attire.
Among the highlights was the presentation of the 2025-26 Royal Court, symbolizing the transition of leadership and continuity of Lincoln’s student legacy. Each pair — Mister and Miss Freshman through Mister and Miss Senior — embodied the next generation of Blue Tiger pride.

The ceremony reached its peak with the formal introduction and investiture of Mister and Miss Lincoln University. Dressed in white, Hunt and Crump took center stage before a glowing backdrop of lights and greenery.
The newly crowned Mister and Miss Lincoln University shared their first walk together following the crowning and exited the stage beneath a ceremonial saber arch.

The crowning was conducted by President John B. Moseley and First Lady Crystal Moseley, joined by the outgoing Mister and Miss Lincoln University. The ceremony also featured special resolutions presented by members of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus, recognizing the students’ leadership and commitment to excellence.

As the ceremony concluded with the Lincoln University alma mater, the audience rose in applause — celebrating not only the newly crowned Mister and Miss Lincoln University but also the legacy of generations before them.
The coronation remains one of Lincoln University’s most meaningful traditions — an event where history, hope and pride come together to honor student excellence and the enduring spirit of the Blue Tiger.
