Dear Blue Tiger,
As we watch the news of the impact of Hurricane Melissa on the Caribbean, including your home country, I want you to know that we understand this has a more personal effect on you with friends, loved ones and memories still there. Our University stands with you and reminds you that your peace of mind is important to all of us.
Tragedies affect people differently, and it is understandable that the difficulties of navigating that from so far away. I hope you have found a support system already during your time here. I also remind you that we have caring staff in Counseling Services and the Office of International Student Services to listen and suggest additional resources as this situation evolves.
We are praying for the safety of everyone in your home country and for all those affected by Hurricane Melissa. The people of your home country have been resilient through much before, and we are faithfully believing that same strength will be revealed in this as well.
