Message from the President: 100th Homecoming

October 27th, 2025

We are family, and this is our reunion, Blue Tigers!

The excitement of the 100th Homecoming is already here, and it will continue to build through the upcoming weekend. Every Homecoming is significant, but this one is a major milestone celebrating our traditions and showcasing our Lincoln University pride.

Every person who participates in this week’s activities is part of the amazing living legacy of this University. For our students, Homecoming is the time to make memories to carry with you through life. This is also a wonderful opportunity to see traditions continued and to connect with people who hold their own sacred memories of the days they walked where you do now.

Thousands of alumni will travel from as close as right down the street and as far as the corners of our nation to come home to Lincoln University. Your time here instilled Blue Tiger pride that endures no matter the time or distance.

Enjoy the stories shared among old friends and take the time to offer wisdom and guidance to the students who hope to follow in your path.

Our faculty and staff are just as excited for this week. School spirit is high, and the competition for the best-decorated office is almost as fierce as we expect on the football field on Saturday. The Homecoming Committee has worked hard to plan a worthy celebration for this special week, and we hope you will join us in gratitude for their efforts.

Over the last several weeks, we have read the headlines about incidents during Homecoming at our sister HBCUs, including Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and Howard University just last weekend. Our thoughts are with those institutions as well as South Carolina State University and Alcorn State University.

We must all be committed to creating a safe, positive environment. The official University events have been organized with this in mind. You are encouraged to ...

  • Check the schedule to plan your unforgettable experience.
  • Model respect for one another on campus and within our communities as the Blue Tiger Ambush spreads around Central Missouri.
  • Travel in groups and take care of each other.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and report any concerns to the Lincoln University Police Department at 573-681-5555.

We are family, and this is our reunion, Blue Tigers. For a full century, we have celebrated the strength of Lincoln University, past and present. Come next Sunday, let us look back with pride that the power of together brought us through a safe and historic 100th Homecoming.

With Blue Tiger pride,

Dr. John B. Moseley, President

Dr. Tobias Morgan, Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Gary Hill, Vice President for Campus Culture

Dr. Grant Winrow, Vice President for University Advancement
