Lincoln University Expands Career-Focused Programs at Fort Leonard Wood and St. Robert Campuses

Lincoln University of Missouri has expanded educational opportunities for students in the Fort Leonard Wood region. Through new, career-focused programs offered at its Fort Leonard Wood and St. Robert campuses, the university is helping local residents gain the skills needed for today’s public safety, healthcare and technology careers. 

The university’s new Security Sciences Institute offers programs designed to strengthen public safety and meet regional workforce needs. New certificates include cybersecurity, mental health for first respondersand geospatial information science (GIS) — all available 100% onlineand designed to be completed in one semester along with in-person emergency medical technician (EMT) training and the Law Enforcement Training Academy offered at the St. Robert campus.  

The Cybersecurity Certificate provides hands-on training in digital defense and information protection. The Mental Health for First Responders Certificate prepares participants to identify and respond to mental health challenges among emergency personnel. The GIS Certificate introduces students to mapping, analysis and data-driven problem-solving used across industries. 

Two high-demand emergency response and public safety programs are offered through in-person classes at LU’s location in the St. Robert Municipal Building. A two-semester program, the EMT Certificate Program offers practical preparation for Missouri EMT licensure. The Law Enforcement Training Academy (LULETA) provides a 16-week program that combines remote instruction with field training and offers evening and weekend classes designed for working adults pursuing law enforcement careers. 

In addition to these new programs, Lincoln University continues to serve students in healthcare fields through its School of Nursing, offering an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, RN to BSN (online) and a Master of Science in Nursing (online with in-person clinicals).
