Lincoln University was recently highlighted in a KMOS feature, exploring its origins, legacy and lasting impact on students and communities.
In the aftermath of the Civil War, Black Union soldiers of the 62nd and 65th Regiments pooled their resources and determination to establish a school dedicated to freedom through education. That school became Lincoln University of Missouri, an institution built on sacrifice, resilience and the belief that knowledge is power. A recent KMOS special presentation, Lincoln University – Founded on Freedom, explores the story of Lincoln's founding and the lasting impact it continues to have on students, families and communities today.
