Since 1925, Lincoln University’s Homecoming has been more than just a weekend of events — it’s a celebration of heritage, unity and the lifelong bonds formed on "the Hill." Each fall, alumni return to campus to reconnect with old friends, relive cherished traditions and create new memories.

Homecoming 2025: A Milestone Celebration
Homecoming 2025 will take place October 26 - November 1, 2025, marking 100 years of tradition at Lincoln University! As we prepare for this historic celebration, we invite all Blue Tigers — past and present — to come home and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Signature Homecoming Events
Homecoming week is packed with events that capture the essence of Lincoln University's spirit and legacy, including:

  • The Royal Coronation - A time-honored tradition where the new Mister and Miss Lincoln University are crowned.
  • The Greek Step Show - A showcase of precision, pride and culture as fraternities and sororities take the stage.
  • The Bonfire - A high-energy gathering where students and alumni come together to ignite school spirit.
  • Concerts - Live performances that bring the LU community together for a night of music and celebration.
  • The Parade - A vibrant display of school pride featuring student organizations, alumni and community members.
  • The Tailgate - The ultimate reunion, where generations of Blue Tigers unite over great food, music and fellowship.
  • The Homecoming Game - The highlight of the weekend, as fans pack the stands to cheer on the LU Blue Tigers.

2025 Celebration Events
As we celebrate 100 years of Homecoming, special events are being introduced to make this year's milestone unforgettable.
 
  • 2025 Masked Gala - After a six-year hiatus, LU's premier fundraiser, the Annual Gala, makes its grand return. Scheduled for Halloween night, this year's theme, Masked Ball, will bring elegance and celebration together in one unforgettable evening.

Alumni Memories and Traditions
For many alumni, homecoming is about reconnecting with the people and moments that made their time at Lincoln special.

“My favorite homecoming tradition is definitely the tailgate. It’s the one place everyone can be at the same place, same time. LU tailgate feels like one big family reunion.” — Calvin Brown, Class of 2000

“Homecoming tailgates are more than just pre-game celebrations — they’re a reunion of my sorority sisters, fraternity brothers, classmates and mentors who have shaped my journey. “The tailgate party is my favorite homecoming tradition. The culture and love experienced at the tailgate party is a small glimpse into the HBCU experience. — Darcy Broadway, Class of 2008

“The step show is my favorite homecoming tradition. It goes beyond the stepping. The way the audience shows up and displays their support brings a strong sense of community.” — Shannon Broadway, Class of 2008

“My favorite Homecoming tradition was publishing the special Homecoming edition of the Lincoln Clarion and personally handing it out to alumni and friends. There was something truly special about seeing their faces light up as they flipped through the pages, reliving memories and celebrating the legacy of Lincoln University. It was more than just a newspaper — it was a connection between generations, a tribute to our shared history and a reminder of the power of storytelling in keeping our Blue Tiger pride alive.” — Kendra Kemp McGee, Class of 2005 and former editor-in-chief of the Lincoln Clarion

“To be completely honest my favorite homecoming tradition is homecoming itself. Homecoming is more than the football games, tailgates, and parties. I do love the Homecoming parade that takes place Saturday morning as it truly showcases the legacy and support of our institution. Homecoming is a powerful display of Black excellence, pride and tradition.” — Kat Langley, Class of 2019

“My favorite homecoming tradition took place back in 2021. I had the opportunity to participate in the Greek serenade on the staircase outside of Page Library. It was amazing to witness such great tradition that takes place year after year. To see every organization show out was amazing. No matter the age — young or old — everyone was involved and celebrating. This is a core memory that I’ll forever cherish.” — Okwar Jale, Class of 2022
