LU President Dr. John Moseley congratulates newly commisioned ROTC Officer Justin Martinez.

Distinguished scholar, military officer and spiritual leader, Chaplain (Colonel) Khallid M. Shabazz, Ph.D., D. Min., served as the commissioning ceremony guest speaker. With 31 years of experience, he provided the newly commissioned officers with invaluable advice as they prepare to become leaders in the U.S. Army.

“You are the soldiers’ future standing in their presence,” says Chaplain Shabazz. “You are the one that has the power that can change the outcomes of human lives. You see, young leader, you are so powerful, you can also be the leader that with mere words changes peoples’ existence.”
