Fall Vegetable Gardening Workshop Series
Join the Native and Specialty Crops Program (NSCP) team and the Innovative Small Farmers Outreach Program (ISFOP) for a 4-part fall vegetable series. Workshops will cover topics including, introduction of planting, effective use of space, and fall harvesting.
Session 1: AUG. 27 — Introduction to Greenhouse Growing
Learn about soil health, temp. and more. Talk about planting seeds, cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, Chinese cabbage, spinach, beets etc.

Session 2: SEPT. 3 — Direct Sow Seeds
Check our seedlings, learn about transplanting, water, light needed, days to harvest, pests and disease.
Instructing: Bryan de Valdivia – ISFOP
Session 3: SEPT. 10 — Growing Plants in the Fall
Transplant our seedlings into beds. Talk about water needs, light, fertilizer needs, mulch, compost or straw.
Instructing: Mary Keeter – ISFOP
Session 4: SEPT. 17 — Continue Growing – Harvest
Monitor bed progress, discuss success and harvest plants.
