Spring Reading Series
LU's Department of Humanities and Communications will host accomplished poets and LU alumni Kieron Walquist '20 and Savannah Cooper '14 as featured readers at the annual Spring Reading Series.
About Kieron Walquist
National Poetry Series winner Kieron Walquist [he/they] is a queer, neurospicy poet and visual artist from mid-Missouri. He holds an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Utah. Their chapbook, LOVE LOCKS, is out with Quarterly West. Their other work is found /forthcoming in Best New Poets, The Missouri Review, Oxford American, and has been supported by the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Monson Arts, and Vermont Studio Center.
About Savannah Cooper
Author of Mother Viper Savannah Cooper (she/her) is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet, amateur photographer, and bisexual mess. Her work has been previously published in more than 40 journals, including Midwestern Gothic, Mud Season Review, and Parentheses Journal. She holds a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Lincoln University of Missouri and currently resides in Western Maryland.
All Blue Tigers are invited to come celebrate the success of these accomplished poets who got their starts in LU's creative writing workshops.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase books and have them signed immediately following the reading.
