Distinguished Lecture Series

Lincoln's own Dr. Bryan Salmons will present a lecture entitled “The Intellectual Merit of True Crime, or, Why It’s as Perfectly Respectable as Any Other Obsession”.
LU professor of English and published author, Dr. Salmons traces the origin of his own interest in the true crime genre, the history and evolution of true crime writing in the modern era, and what he learned about the craft in writing his own true crime book. The whole is a spirited defense against those who insist that true crime writing or merely enthusiasm is not a “serious” intellectual pursuit.
All students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are welcome! Presented by the Division of Student Affairs.
