Grant Writing Faculty Workshop
Do you have a project you would like to see grant-funded, but don't know where to start?
The Office of the Provost invites you to join Dr. Mark Melton for a special faculty presentation on grant writing, immediately following the Faculty Senate meeting at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Scruggs University Ballroom.
Dr. Melton has served as the principal investigator and/or director of several grants totaling more than $10 million secured from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA), the Department of Education (DOE), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). He has also participated in numerous NIH and NSF grant proposal review panels for a variety of programs within each agency.
Dr. Melton received his B.A. degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the M.S. degree in developmental biology from North Carolina A&T State University, and the Ph.D. in developmental neurophysiology from the University of Maryland at College Park. He also conducted postdoctoral research in molecular genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Melton will be available after his grant writing presentation on Thursday afternoon, April 24 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. for private grant writing and project consultations with faculty and again on Friday morning, April 25, 2025.
