Constitution Day Celebration

During this annual celebration, LU students, faculty and staff will hold a public reading of the U.S. Constitution and its amendments. Attendees will also hear remarks from Willie J. Epps, Jr., Chief US Magistrate Judge, on the topic of "The Various Ways Federal Judges Interpret the U.S. Constitution."

Judge Willie J. Epps, Jr. was born in Natchez, Mississippi, and raised in North St. Louis County, Missouri. He began his legal career in service to our country as an Air Force Judge Advocate, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Assistant Special Counsel for the Waco Investigation. Later, he was named partner at two law firms and head of litigation at a financial services firm. Judge Epps is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and former chair of the National Conference of Federal Trial Judges. He is a graduate of Amherst College, Harvard Law School, and Duke University School of Law.
