LU-MRRL Lecture Series

You are invited to the upcoming LU-MRRL Lecture Series event, "Starting Your Own Egg Farm at Home." This event is scheduled for Monday, August 26 from 6:30 - 8 pm at the Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library (214 Adams Street, Jefferson City). Join us for an engaging session with Dr. Tatijana Fisher, LU's state poultry extension specialist, as she shares valuable insights and best practices for starting and managing your own flock of chickens for fresh eggs. Her presentation will include information about breed selection, chicken housing and equipment, nutrition and feeding, egg handling, biosecurity, and more. You'll also learn about common challenges and practical solutions to make your chicken-keeping experience a success. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned poultry keeper looking to improve your flock, this program has something for you. Fisher's research focuses on small-flock poultry production, with particular emphasis on heritage breeds and outdoor production systems.
