LU-MRRL Lecture Series
You are invited to the upcoming LU-MRRL Lecture Series event, "Starting a Goat or Sheep Flock." This event is scheduled for Monday, July 8 from 6:30 - 8 pm at the Art Gallery, Missouri River Regional Library (214 Adams Street, Jefferson City). This talk will feature Dr. Mohan Acharya, State Extension Specialist, who will be giving a talk on the following:
Do you want to start a goat or sheep herd but have no idea how to move forward? Dr. Mohan Acharya, State Extension Specialist, will offer a class for aspiring beginner farmers. He will cover selecting the type of animals, how to manage feed resources, and where to buy equipment. Before buying the first animal, producers need to consider feed resources, management practices to keep animals healthy, and marketing of their animals for maximum profit. Also covered will be basic infrastructure, feed resources and marketing options of goats and sheep in Missouri.
