LU-MRRL Lecture Series
The LU-MRRL Lecture Series invites you to attend their upcoming event, "Behind the Walls: Teaching in LU's Prison Education Program." In this talk, occurring on Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 pm, Will Sites, Associate Professor of Journalism, will be discussing his experiences teaching with LU's Education Program. Drug trafficking. Manslaughter. Armed robbery. Typical crimes associated with inmates serving time at Jefferson City Correctional Center (JCCC). History, political science, sociology. Typical classes associated with inmates studying for a college degree in a new Lincoln University prison education program at JCCC. Will Sites, associate professor of journalism, will discuss how teaching in the program is changing the lives of his incarcerated students and improving the quality of his life on and off campus.
This talk will take place at the Missouri River Regional Library's Art Gallery (214 Adams Street, Jefferson City, MO). This event is free and open to the public. Parking is free adjacent to the MRRL building, as well as across the street in the overflow parking lot.
