An LU Professor’s Summer in Mozambique
Mozambique is an African country of 32 million people in the Southeastern part of the continent. A constitutional democracy since 1992, Mozambique elects some officials but appoints others. Dr. Norris spent three months in Mozambique this summer interviewing mayors in rural areas to try to figure out how they do their jobs. Unlike the US, mayors in Mozambique are appointed, not elected. Come see a slideshow and hear descriptions of Dr. Norris’s research, his family’s travel with him to Africa, and exciting potential opportunities for LU to connect with Mozambique in the future.
