LU-MRRL Lecture Series: Nature Through a Book
You are invited to attend the upcoming LU-MRRL Lecture Series event, happening on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30 pm at the Missouri River Regional Library (214 Adams Street in Jefferson City, MO). Dr. Jane Frazier, Professor of English, will focus her talk, titled "Nature Through a Book", on nature and literature and will be an interactive talk with responses from the audience requested about the literature she will be presenting. She plans to present such topics as how nature has been seen in literature in the past couple of centuries and how we write about it now. In an age of environmentalism how have we been writing about the natural world? How did we see it in the 19th and 20th centuries? She would like to look at poets such as William Wordsworth, Edgar Allan Poe, and W. S. Merwin to explore this topic from an American and British point of view.
This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available adjacent to the library building, as well as across the street in the overflow lot.
