Program Overview

The Employment Academy is a comprehensive career-readiness program that helps individuals:
  • Develop personal and professional goals
  • Gain essential workplace competencies
  • Earn certifications valued by Missouri employers
  • Build a resume and prepare for interviews
  • Transition into employment or continued education

Curriculum Overview

The first-semester curriculum includes three foundational courses required of all students and two track courses tailored to specific workforce pathways. Courses include:
  • PSY 202 Psychology of Personal Adjustment
  • BAD 101 Introduction to Business
  • SPT 2XX Fundamentals of Speech
Additional courses depending on the participant's choosen workforce pathway include:
  • Administrative Associate Courses
  • Accounting Associate Courses
  • Cybersecurity Courses
  • Direct Care Courses
The successful completion of the first semester (with a C or better in all required courses) allows the student to be eligible for the second-semester internship experience, which includes:

  • Internship Management (overseen by an assigned Lincoln University instructor).
  • In-person internship at an agency with whom the student has been matched.
