Learning in Retirement (LIR) Scholarship

Learning in Retirment is currently working with the Office of Continuing Education to refine the requirements for this scholarship. Please contact the Office of Continuing Education at 681-5206 for further information and the new application deadline. We are sorry for the delay in disseminating this information. 

The amount of the scholarship for Fall 2015 will be $1,000. The application and the flyer (see links below) do not contain the new amount nor the correct deadline for the application. 


Learning in Retirement (LIR) is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship (for the upcoming Fall semester) to an undergraduate student in any major area that meets the following criteria:

  • Sophomore or Junior standing
  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Missouri resident

If a student is interested in applying, he/she will need to complete the Scholarship Application Form, provide a copy of his/her transcript, and write a one-page essay (12 pt, single spaced) describing his/her educational goals and how the scholarship will assist with achieving those goals. Applications need to be returned to the Continuing Education Office (Lorenzo Greene Hall, 900 Leslie Boulevard, Suite C) prior to April ?, 2015.
