General Information for Parents of Dual Enrollment Students
Tuition
Dual enrollment courses cost $75.00 per credit hour, plus on-campus fees. Courses offered range from three to five hours of credit. There are three methods of paying tuition and fees: checks payable to Lincoln University may be mail to Lincoln University, ATTN: Office of the CFO, PO Box 29, Jefferson City, MO, 65102-0029; the University also accepts VISA, MasterCard, and Discover Payments either via WebAdvisor, or by contacting the Cashier's Office at (573) 681-5085.
Transferability of Credits
Most credit earned will transfer to public colleges and universities within the state of MIssouri. Lincoln University strongly encourages students to contact their institution(s) of choice to understand their transfer policy regarding dual credit courses.
Transcript requests must be completed online through the National Student Clearinghouse. Please be aware that any request mailed to the Registrar's Office after December 1, 2018 will be returned to sender. To begin the process of requesting an official transcript please click here.
Refund Policy
Students who withdraw from dual credit courses before the course drop date will receive a refund based on the following policy:
Withdraw during the first calendar week of classes | Full refund |
Withdraw during the second calendar week of classes | 50% refund |
Withdraw during the third calendar week of classes | 25% refund |
Withdraw after the third calendar week of classes | No refund |
Student Eligibility
All dual enrollment students must provide a transcript (for proof of grade point average) and ACT scores (if appicable).
- Students in 11th and 12th grades with an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) are automatically eligible for dual enrollment courses.
- Students in the 11th and 12th grades with an overall grade point average between 2.5 and 2.99 (on a 4.0 scale) must provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal or guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Students in the 10th grade must have an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and must provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal and guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Students in the 9th grade must have an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), score in the 90th percentile or above on the ACT or SAT, and provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal and guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Please note that all students must, in addition to the above requirements, meet any prerequisites for the specific courses in which they wish to enroll.
