Eligibility
According to the Missouri Coordinating Board of Higher Education, dual credit adjunct faculty must meet the same qualifications as adjunct faculty teaching the course on campus at Lincoln University. All dual credit adjunct faculty must have a Master's degree in the discipline to be taught, or a Master's degree and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the respective discipline of the course being taught at the high school.
Approval Process
All candidates for adjunct faculty positions must be approved by the department chairs of the discipline their course falls within. The documents required for review are:
- Lincoln University Employment Application
- Letter of Intent (enclosed should be the course(s) candidates will be instructing)
- Official Transcripts from all previous institutions
- Curriculum Vitae
- 3 letters of recommendation (one should be from the principal of the high school)
All documents must be submitted to the Division of Educational Innovation and Extended Studies.

Once all documents are received, they will be sent to the department chairs for review. Applicants will receive the decision regarding their approval within 1 to 3 weeks of submission. All information submitted as part of the applicants' credentials packet becomes the property of Lincoln University and cannot be returned.
Hiring Process
Once approved by the academic dean, the adjunct faculty must complete the required forms for employment by Lincoln University's Human Resource Office. These include:
- Employee Data Form
- Request to Mail payroll Check
- W-4 (Missouri and Federal)
- I-9 Verification Form
Compensation
Compensation for the course is based on the number of credit hours of the course and the number of students enrolled in the course.
3 credit hours - $50.00 per student
4 credit hours - $67.77 per student
5 credit hours - $83.33 per student
All compensation will be paid using the following payment calendar:
1 – 5 students: One paycheck, last month of the semester
6- 10 students: Two paychecks, last two months of the semester
11+ students: Three paychecks, last three months of the semester
All compensation is subject to tax/benefits deductions.
