Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA)
The Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA) is an assessment required of all students seeking teacher certification in the state of Missouri, except those who already have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. All sections of the MoGEA must be passed for admission into the Teacher Education Program at Lincoln University. To register for the MoGEA, click here.
If you have already taken and passed all sections of the CBASE (prior to the administration of the MoGEA), you may use those scores for entry into the program until 12/31/2016. After that date, only MoGEA scores will be accepted.
The MoGEA is part of the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessment (MEGA) program developed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

MoGEA Information for August 31, 2015 and Beyond
The State of Missouri ihas implimented a second version of the MoGEA beginning August 31, 2015. The new exam contains four sections, as opposed to the five it contained previously. The most notable changes include combining the Science and Social Studies sections into one subtest, and changing the English/Language Arts portion. The state is allowing students to "mix and match" passing scores from the first exam and the second exam, so if some sections have been passed they will not need to be retaken. For the new combined Science/Social Studies section, students must have passed both portions on the old exam or retake this new combined exam.
There are a limited number of fee waivers for enrolled undergraduate or graduate students taking the MoGEA. They will be distributed on a first come first serve basis, starting January 19, 2016. The waiver is for $25.00. To get the fee waiver (voucher) complete the Voucher Request Form and turn it into the Education Department Office 452 MLK.
If you have any questions or want more information, please contact your education advisor or the Education Department Database Manager, Glenn Brown (email), for more information.
