Department of Science, Technology & Mathematics
Welcome to the Department of Science, Technology, & Mathematics' website. Our department offers associate & bachelor's degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Physics, Technology, and Mathematics. We have a group of highly qualified and well-experienced faculty members in the department, many with doctoral degrees. Our primary focus is to serve the students with a quality education within our various degree programs that will make them competitive in the workforce or be well prepared for graduate/ professional schools.
Our foundational courses provide a comprehensive understanding of the basics and the small class sizes allow students to get individual attention from the professors. We offer many evening classes to suit working adults. We have a close working relationship with many area businesses and are able to provide internship courses that enable students to obtain hands-on experience. Students who enroll in an internship course have an easier time finding employment after graduation. Our graduates find employment in state offices, state laboratories, local hospitals, and other area businesses. Several our bachelor's degree graduates continue their education at graduate school or attend professional schools including education, medical, dental, pharmacy and veterinary. Our pre-engineering associate degree program enables students to get easy access to any engineering school in the nation.
Many of department's faculty members are engaged in active research in addition to teaching full-time. These diverse research interests can be explored under the department's faculty and staff tab. The department continues to expand undergraduate research opportunities for students to better enhance the learning experience of our students.
