Bio:
Dr. Tatijana Fisher is an Assistant Professor and the State Poultry Extension Specialist at Lincoln University. Dr. Fisher earned her PhD at the University of Kentucky where her research focused on the factors that influence the growth performance and carcass characteristics of slow-growing broilers and heritage breed chickens. In addition to her research, she taught UK's introductory animal science course and worked with extension personnel to conduct industry training sessions and 4-H poultry classes. Preceding her appointment at Lincoln, Dr. Fisher conducted research on lighting for poultry and swine production, and served as a consultant for small and medium-sized poultry producers. Dr. Fisher's research and extension program at Lincoln focuses on small-flock poultry production, with particular emphasis on heritage breeds and alternative production systems. She uses the information from her research program to help small- and medium-scale poultry producers in Missouri establish and improve their operations.
