Facilities

Center of Nanotechnology at Lincoln University maintains a separated unit at Schweich Hall fisrt floor in addition to two more laboratories. Laboratory 1 is located at Foster Hall and Laboratory 2 is located at Founders Hall on the campus of Lincoln University. The facilities are described below:

Laboratory 1 is 300 ft². It has bench space extending the length of both walls, and both bench tops have sinks that are plumbed with tap water and deionized water. It has one single fume hood. It contains two peristaltic pumps, analytical balance, magnetic stir plates and hot plates, desiccators, Chemical Oxygen Demand reactor (COD), colorimetric analysis spectrometers, and wide range of laboratory glassware. Laboratory 2 is 1000 ft². It is divided into three sections: Bench A (50 ft²) for wet area, Bench B (100 ft²) for general equipments (scales, shaker, water bath, microscope, UV-Vis), and Bench C (100 ft²) for bench-top testing equipments. Bench B and C also have sinks that are plumbed with tap water and deionized water. It has one double fume hood. It contains a jar test apparatus, three refrigerators with freezers, micropipetters (1–1000 µm), pH meter and probe, filtration system, titration system, magnetic stir plates and hot plates, two desiccators, and wide range of laboratory glassware. Computer: Computers are located in the following locations: Laboratory 1 and 2, Graduate Student Office 1, and faculty and staff rooms. Secured, high-speed wireless Internet access is available throughout for the use of the faculty, staff, and students. There is one computer dedicated to each piece of major equipment in Laboratory 1 and 2 (see Equipment). All the computers are maintained with the latest version of windows and Microsoft office. The relevant equipment softwares are maintained for all working equipment. COMSOL, ENDNOTE, MATLAB are also available for use in the labs. Four new HP - TouchSmart All-In-One Computer / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor / 23" Display / 6GB Memory / 1TB Hard Drive desktop computers have been ordered to upgrade the existing computers and provide for fast and efficient computing capability in the lab. A couple of NetBooks are available for students to use. All computers are connected with a central printer in each location. 

Office: All faculty, staff, and student worker rooms are located in Schweich Hall.
