The History Program supports the mission of Lincoln University by offering excellent and innovative teaching and by fostering student development. History faculty members hold terminal degrees (PhDs) from top-tier research institutions, and offer a wide range of research-based, relevant, and challenging courses. The faculty foster student development and teach students to be critical thinkers, readers, writers, and researchers, helping students to understand the broad sweep of human development from ancient times to the present. Through these activities and initiatives, the History Program faculty and staff foster a culture of academic excellence, preparing students for a lifetime of professional and community contributions in an increasingly inter-dependent and culturally diverse world.
