What is the LU Blue Tiger portal?
The LU Blue Tiger portal is a web-based interface that provides one-stop access to all core systems at LU. It offers a personalized experience, delivering content that applies specifically to you.
What is a portal?
A portal is a website that brings all relevant websites and information into one location. MyCampus is a portal which uses Single Sign-on technology to provide seamless access to systems such as Moodle, WebAdvisor, and E-mail.
Who can access the portal?
All students with an active account Faculty Staff
When is the portal available?
The Blue Tiger portal is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer with an internet connection.
Which web browsers should I be using?
If you experience problems once you have accessed the portal, it could be related to the web browser or operating system you are using. Check the following:
Internet Web Browser - Internet Explorer 7.0 or 8.0 - Firefox 3.5+ - Safari 4+ - Chrome 10+
Operating System - Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7 - Apple Mac OS 10x
Recommended custom zoom for any web browser is 100%.
Screen Resolution should be set to 1024 x 768 or higher.
Why am I getting a "mixed content" warning on the portal?
LU uses SSL encryption on the portal for your security. This protects your data when handling sensitive information within the site. When content on the portal is linked from external sites (such as with some newsletters), it is "mixed" with our secure content. Internet Explorer provides a warning for this, while other browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome do not. Depending on how you respond to the IE pop-up will decide whether the browser displays the information from external sites or not.
How do I get rid of the "mixed content" warning?
Open Internet Explorer Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab Select the "Internet" zone, then click the "Custom level..." button below In the Security Settings window that opens, scroll down a little past halfway and change the setting for "Display mixed content" to "Enable" Click "OK", then "OK"
What security issues do I need to be concerned with when using the portal?
Using the portal requires you to log-in to gain access. It is equally important to log-off from the portal when you end your session on the computer. There is an automatic log-off triggered to end the single sign on session (default page expiration time is 30 minutes)
Privacy Concerns with Shared ComputersFor users who access the portal on computers that are shared with others, logging out and clearing browser information is critical to fully ensure privacy.
