Biographical Sketch        

Dr. Connie B. Hamacher was named Interim President of Lincoln University effective August 16, 2012.

She earned the B.S.N. from Central Missouri State University; the M.S.N. and the Ph.D. in Higher and Adult Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a graduate of Jefferson City High School, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Dr. Hamacher holds the rank of Professor of Nursing and served as Head of the Nursing Department at Lincoln University from 1998 – present. She has been employed at the University for thirty-two years (1980 – present). During her tenure at Lincoln University, Dr. Hamacher has served as Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in the Department of Nursing Science. 

She served as House Supervisor (part-time) at St. Mary’s Health Center, Jefferson City, Missouri from 1987–2006. She was also employed as Assistant Supervisor and Staff Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Mary’s Health Center from 1974-1979.

Dr. Hamacher serves on the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the United Way of Central Missouri Board of Directors, St. Mary’s Hospice Foundation Board Member, South Central Missouri Nursing Coalition, and the Missouri Articulation Committee for Nursing Education.

She is a member of the American Nurses Association (1975-present); and the Missouri Nurses Association (1975-present).  She received the Nurse of the Year Award in 2003 from the Seventh District Missouri Nurses Association. Dr. Hamacher is a member of Kappa Delta Pi (National Honor Society for Education) - 1994-present; and Sigma Theta Tau (National Honor Society for Nursing) – 1985-present.

Connie Ornburn Hamacher is the daughter of Bryan and Marjorie Ornburn (both deceased). She is married to Sam Hamacher and they have one son and one grandson.
