How to you address cheating in your classroom?

I have begun using anti-plagiarism checking to randomly check even discussion posts. It seems like students will not adhere to my "policy" unless they know I am following my words with actions. It makes me sad, but it's the real world. I expect LU is not alone in this problem (well really, I know....)
