Leave is earned by eligible employees’ bases on length of employment with Lincoln University.
Annual Leave is earned on the 15th of each month and will be automatically posted to the employee’s leave account balance.
University employees' annual leave (accumulated each pay period) and maximum balance is determined as follows:
• Less than ten years :10 hours
- maximum annual leave balance: 240 hours
• Ten years of total service: 12 hours
- maximum annual leave balance: 288 hours.
• Fifteen years of total service: 14 hours
- maximum annual leave balance: 336 hours.
Annual leave balance can accumulate above allowed maximum; however, it must used by June 30th of that calendar year. Leave balance is tracked on a 'use or lose' basis.
Sick Leave is earned on the 15th of each month and will be automatically posted to the employee’s leave account balance. It is accrued at the rate of 8 hours each month of continuous full-time service.
Personal Leave is granted to all employees. Employees receive 56 hours of personal leave on the 1st day of each fiscal year (July 1) which is the maximum amount of leave allowed for each employee. Personal leave for new hires is awarded at a prorated rate of 4.67 hours from the time of hire through the end of the fiscal year. Personal leave does not accumulate.
Other Types of Leave recognized by the University: Special Leaves of Absence, Military Leave, Time Off Work to Vote and Judicial Obligations.
