Leave
Leave is earned by eligible employees’ bases on length of employment with Lincoln University.
Annual Leave is earned on the 15th of each month and will be automatically posted to the employee’s leave account balance.
• Employees with less than ten years of total University service earn 10 hours of annual leave each pay period with a maximum annual leave balance of 240 hours.
• Employees who have completed ten years of total University service earn 12 hours of annual leave each pay period with a maximum annual leave balance of 288 hours.
• Employees who have completed fifteen years of total University service earn 14 hours of annual leave each pay period with a maximum annual leave balance of 336 hours.
Employees may accumulate more annual leave than their allowed maximum; however, they must use it by June 30th of that calendar year.
Sick Leave is earned on the 15th of each month and will be automatically posted to the employee’s leave account balance. It is accrued at the rate of 8 hours each month of continuous full-time service.
Personal Leave is granted to all employees. Employees receive 56 hours of personal leave on the 1st day of each fiscal year (July 1) which is the maximum amount of leave allowed for each employee. Personal leave for new hires is awarded at a prorated rate of 4.67 hours from the time of hire through the end of the fiscal year. Personal leave does not accumulate.
Other Types of Leave include: Special Leaves of Absence, Military Leave, Time Off Work to Vote and Judicial Obligations.
