The Lincoln University Cooperative Extension and Research (LUCER) Media Center serves to promote all Cooperative Extension and Research projects and programs through editorial, design and communication technologies.  The Media Center provides onsite support during events at various venues, software support and development of University-compliant collateral.  From video conferencing and publication production to graphic arts and photography, the center uses a multi-media approach to publicize progress in the program areas offered. Lincoln University Cooperative Extension (LUCE) presents The Afterschool Program Monday, January 14, 2013 through Friday, May 10, 2013. Afterschool Program students will enjoy a safe, stimulating environment and have fun while learning, during activities in: health and fitness, poetry and music, money management, robotics, and photography. The program will be held weekly, Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm on the Lincoln University campus. The program is open to youth ages 8-17. Transportation to the program will be available from selected schools. Lincoln University Cooperative Extension St. Louis Urban Impact Center is offering FREE TAX PREPARATION, Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., January 26, February 2, 9, 16, and 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2013. Back to Nature, the Charms, and Uses of Indigenous Flora: 2013 Series of native plants training classes with hands-on activities sponsored by Lincoln University Native Plants Program. Classes will be offered in Room 100 Allen Hall, 900 Chestnut Street, Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO or at the Martin Community Center, 1985 South Odell, Marshall, MO and Nicholas Beazley Aviation Museum. Southwest Missouri Sheep and Goat Conference, Saturday, March 23, 2013, McDonald County Fairgrounds, 100 Mustang Lane (near intersection of Hwy 76 and 71B and adjacent to the high school), Anderson, MO. Southwest Missouri Sheep and Goat Fitting and Showmanship Clinic, Saturday, April 13, 2013, Double Down Arena, 5585 West Belle Center Road (near junction of Hwy JJ or MO P), Joplin, MO. $5 pre-registration fee; $10 at the door. Registration is from 8:45 to 9:30, program goes until 3 pm. Top showmen from Missouri and Oklahoma will be assisting with the clinic. Both breeding and market animals will be discussed but emphasis will be placed on market animals. Hair sheep, wool sheep, meat goats, and dairy goats will be available for viewing in fitted condition. Topics:

LUCE Sprouts & Roots will host Sprouts and Roots Summer Camp, Monday, June 17 - Thursday, June 2013 or Monday, July 29 - Thursday, August 1, 2013, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Lincoln University Dickinson Research Center, 1219 Chestnut Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Come be a Sprout and join our gardening camp for 4th - 8th graders! You will have fun learning gardening, cooking, and crafts through group activities! Learn about nutrition and health benefits along the way. The camps will include: garden basics, garden projects, native wildflowers and fruits, cooking classes, outdoor games, nature crafts, and more!
