Several full-time positions available. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. Works individually in the completion of service calls for water utility customers including new service initiation, customer-requested and delinquent turn-offs, repairs, and investigation of meter leaks and billing complaints. Tests, cleans, installs and repairs manual and AMR meters. Inspects the work of a licensed plumber. Operates a water service truck and uses various small hand tools to install, replace, repair and test water meters. Turns water service on or off. Reports instances where major repair is necessary. Inspects piping to be sure it is safe to install and/or replace water meters or water meter brass. Responds to emergency calls such as floods, broken pipes, main breaks, damaged hydrants or meters, questionable water calls, and frozen meter calls. REQUIRES high school graduation and 6 months experience in general construction, maintenance, or repair work. Must possess a val-id state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. **Preference given to applicants with basic plumbing experience and knowledge of the City. **

This position is responsible for computer support services both for software and hardware for departments employees. Must interact with network and system operation group’s services, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Responsibilities include using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and other imaging tools to build and deploy computers and laptops, perform hardware upgrades and replacements, day to day sup-port of Windows 7/8, MS Office 2007/2010, Wi-Fi and LAN TCPIP connections, VPN, Printers, Exchange E-mail via Outlook and Outlook Web Access. Provide technical support both onsite and via the telephone and remote control software to the Executive staff and general user community. Advanced troubleshooting and research to diagnose and resolve complex and difficult technical issues. Utilize Windows system and command-line tools, event logs, registry and performance monitoring tools. Provide support on mobile devices such as Druid, iPhone, iPad, and other Smart Phones as well as some Active Directory ad-ministration, McAfee Antivirus and McAfee Encryption. Must be able to handle multiple task effectively, meet deadlines and be able to diligently follow standards and best practices in a fast-paced environment. Ability to participate in on-call duty as needed and lift up to 50lbs. REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of technology experience OR An equivalent combination of education and technology experience. **Preference will be given to applicants that posses a strong technical background in Microsoft operating systems & office products such as A+/MCP/MCSE/Hardware certifications and experience with AD domain environment.**

Several full-time positions available. Normal Work Days/Hours: Friday-Monday, 7:00a.m.-5:30p.m. and Monday-Thursday, 7:00a.m.-5:30p.m. Works as a skilled crew member in the installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of water distribution mains and lines, valves and hydrants. Participates in the installation of water mains, valves and hydrants. Re-pairs leaks and breaks in existing pressured mains. Locates and manipulates valves and keys to regulate the water system. Operates tapping machines to make major water main line taps. Lays pipe by hand or by guiding the activities of a backhoe, hoist or crane operation. Participates in the restoration of work site locations and street surfaces. Backfills excavations,restores dirt work, seeds or sods, sets up erosion control measures, tears down and re-places fences. Replaces landscaping, utilizing proper techniques in minimizing damages to existing utilities. Assists in digging trenches and other excavations. Shores deep excavation. Follows all City policies concerning safety in the work place. Operates various types of motorized construction and maintenance equipment. Operates jackhammer in cutting and breaking concrete, asphalt or rock. Removes waste material from work site. Drives dump truck for hauling construction material. Drives crew trucks and pickup trucks in transporting personnel and materials to designated work sites. Operates a front-end loader up to 2-1/2 cubic yard in loading sweeper piles, broken pipe, dirt, rocks and debris. Operates crane trucks and forklifts for loading pipe or other materials. Operates tandem dump trucks to haul debris or rocks for backfill. Operates uniloader for landscaping and grade and seed. Operates other equipment as needed. Services assigned equipment with fuel, oil, water and grease. Participates in snow plowing and snow removal operations. REQUIRES high school graduation and 4 years of experience in water or sewer construction and maintenance work, including 2 years at the level of Utility Repairer. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in ac-cordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given to candidates with 5-10 years supervisory experience and knowledge of water distribution systems or any other utility experience.
