Several full-time positions available.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Works individually in the completion of service calls for water utility customers including new service initiation, customer-requested and delinquent turnoffs, repairs, and investigation of meter leaks and billing complaints. Tests, cleans, installs and repairs manual and AMR meters. Inspects the work of a licensed plumber. Operates a water service truck and uses various small hand tools to install, replace, repair and test water meters. Turns wa-ter service on or off. Reports instances where major repair is necessary. Inspects piping to be sure it is safe to install and/or replace water meters or water meter brass. Responds to emergency calls such as floods, broken pipes, main breaks, damaged hydrants or meters, questionable water calls, and frozen meter calls.

REQUIRES high school graduation and 6 months experience in general construction, maintenance, or repair work. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

**Preference given to applicants with basic plumbing experience and knowledge of the City. **
