Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources & Related Sciences (MANRRS)
"Changing the Face of Agriculture by Linking Hands Around the World."
The Lincoln University MANRRS Chapter comprises of approximately (25) students and (3) co-advisors.
This past summer LU MANRRS initiated Farmers Market activities. MANRRS grew, marketed and sold fruit and vegetables from the LU farm. Nutritional information and recipes were disseminated and made available with the product sold.
Since autumn is approaching, ample supplies and varieties for fruit and vegeatables are not available. MANRRS plans on selling the remaining supplies until the end of October. However, MANRRS will continue with this project next year.
Our primary objectives are:
- To teach Marketing values
- To Outreach and Extend to the community
Who will benefit from the LU MANRRS Farmers Market?
The LU MANRRS student chapter will benefit from this non-profit fundraising project. The funds will be used to cover incidental expenses for national travel. The LU MANRRS students also plan to support and kickoff fundraising opportunities to establish a museum on campus. The objective for the museum has been initiated by the LU library staff.
MANRRS is a National non-profit organization.
