Joel Sovanski, Network Systems Administrator II
Joel keeps the data running smoothly. He is responsible for maintaining Lincoln's Local Area Network (LULAN), along with all Novell and Windows servers. Maintaining these systems requires Joel to always think of security While he is mostly tied to the Schweich Hall Data Center and the odd wiring closet, he still can be seen running between buildings during an occasional "incident." This hearkens back to his days as a computer technician when he could often be seen running to service calls.
He has been with SunGard Collegis at Lincoln for the past 5 years. Prior to that he worked for Lincoln University as a student computer technician for 3 years while attending classes. His graduated with BS in Computer Information Systems and an AS in Pre-Engineering in 2000.
